If 2009 just wasn’t your year then I’m guessing you have high hopes for 2010. However, I doubt these high hopes include higher tire prices.

Unfortunately, tire prices are increasing industry wide heading into the New Year. This blog has already mentioned price increases from Goodyear, Yokohama, Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli and Cooper, and now we can add Kumho to the list.

Starting January 1, 2010, Kumho Tires USA Inc. is raising consumer and commercial tire prices up to 8% to offset rising raw material costs.

In October 2009, Kumho USA raised prices 12%, but only on tires imported from China. Kumho’s last brand wide price increase was September 1, 2008.
