The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze Eco will come with the Assurance Fuel Max by Goodyear Tires. The 17 inch fitment features a fuel saving tread compound to help reduce enegy loss and dual zone tread provides outstanding grip. the Cruze Eco is expected to achieve and estimated 40 miles per gallon highway when equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission.

Saul Ludwig reports to Modern Tire Dealer that many manufacturers are scrambling to increase production to cover a short fall in passenger and light truck tire inventories. After a long 2009 that saw many manufacturers draw down their inventories to match demand, a sudden surge in demand has them boosting output. North American aftermarket sales are reportedly up 13% and OE is up 55%.

Goodyear tires unveiled several concept tires at this week’s Geneva Motor show.

Goodyear presented several new models including an extremely low rolling resistance version of its EfficientGrip tire. Goodyear is also showcasing its newest run-flat, which features reduced mass and rolling resistance. The new “RunOnFlat tire offers comfort levels comparable to standard tires,” according to Goodyear officials.

The other tires displayed include the Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice+ winter tire featuring ActiveGrip Technology, the Dunlop SP StreetResponse with Goodyear’s Touch Technology and the Dunlop SP QuattroMaxx ultra-high performance SUV tire.

Goodyear tires unveiled the new Assurance ComforTred Touring tire at yesterday’s 2010 dealer conference in Kissimmee, Fla.

The launch of the ComforTred Touring was not the only thing Goodyear had in store for dealers at the conference. Goodyear announced every dealer present at the event would receive a free set of the new tires.

“We wanted all the dealers to experience the new tires,” said Scott Rogers, Goodyear’s chief marketing officer. “There is no better way to showcase the new tire than to let them try it themselves.”
